About Evett Williams
I am Evett Williams and I welcome you to unite with me at the start of this journey to the Augusta
Richmond County Commission. I am running for District 8 County Commissioner with one guiding belief:
true leadership starts with service. That is why I have dedicated my life to serving through my faith and
to my family, my profession, and this incredible community we call home.
From healthcare and education to nonprofits, real estate, and veterans' services, I bring a broad range of experience that reflects the diverse needs of our county. My service is marked with purposeful partnerships that deliver real results. I’ve held leadership roles at Augusta Technical College and East Georgia State College, and I currently serve in a role supporting veterans with disabilities. I also serve as an Elder at Christian City of Praise, where I oversee various church auxiliaries and provide support for spiritual initiatives.
Civic service is in my DNA. I’m proud to serve on the Augusta-Richmond County Zoning Appeals Board and the YMCA Metro Board. For many years, I’ve partnered with organizations focused on youth, education, tech skills, families, and the arts.
I’m a proud wife to Lanzy Williams Sr., a retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major, and together we have five amazing adult children.
As the next District 8 County Commissioner for Augusta Richmond County, I am choosing to be present for the people. I am committed to building purposeful partnerships that deliver
real results, and I am passionate about progress for our community. With your support I will bring integrity, experience, and a servant’s heart to the Commission – because when we lead together, we
grow together.
